Another momentous year for Google Developer Group Philippines (GDG Ph) as DevFest, the grandest tech conference of the year is happening again on November 23 at Novotel, Quezon City! Annually, this event is hosted by GDG Philippines, a group of enthusiastic Filipino developers interested in collaborating and learning more about new technologies. In celebration of the 12th year anniversary of DevFest, GDG Ph will bring developers, tech enthusiasts, entrepreneurs and technology experts together in one amazing event where there will be acquisition of new knowledge and socialization for opportunities to collaborate. Mainly becoming one with this year’s theme: “Moving beyond innovation”.

DevFest has always been committed in promoting innovation in the fields of Mobile, Web, Cloud Technologies, Machine Learning and Design. In this era where innovative and creative ideas are shaping the industry, DevFest will surely put you on track on the latest in the field of technology. This year, we are excited to promote “Modern Diversity” through a panel discussion. Over the decades, diversity has always been a topic in the tech world. Many articles, blogs, and posts still bring up the discouraging numbers of the oppressed and marginalized–mostly women. But, in this session, GDG aims to highlight ‘Modern Diversity’ not just to rebrand diversity itself but to impose visibility to the milestones that #WomenInTech has reached throughout the years. Listen to inspiring stories from Women of various fields and ages in this panel discussion, attendees might be able to ask questions too!

Moreover, the event is curated to cater not only the technical side but also the non-technical part. One workshop is focused in boosting self confidence, especially of women, through #IamRemarkable–a Google initiative empowering women and underrepresented groups to celebrate their achievements in the workplace and beyond.

GDG Ph will be launching its first official event app aiming for a seamless conference experience. Through the DevFest App, attendees can easily sign-in their Eventbrite ticket, access the event catalogue for the agenda, speakers, and sessions. Codelab sessions’ booking can also be done with the app.

Overall, the conference features a pool of 27 (local and international) speakers who are industry experts of whom participants will surely be fueled with learnings on their particular choice of field topics through tech-filled talks and codelab sessions that will simultaneously happen on the event.
