A police officer, P/Lt. Ernesto Mendoza, Jr., was shot dead aboard his car Tuesday evening at the corner of Malingap and Mapagkawanggawa streets in Quezon City.
The shooting victim, assigned at the QCPD District Logistics Division, was alone in his car near a popular food strip when attacked by several gunmen.
Investigators were determining if Mendoza’s killing was related with his work as a policeman.
Meanwhile, operatives of the Quezon City Police District Novaliches station arrested two alleged drug dealers in a buy-bust operation Tuesday afternoon.
The duo were nabbed in front of the Nova Mall located along Quirino Highway in Barangay Nova Proper in Novaliches.
Arrested were one alias “Ate,” 33, a vendor from Ilagan, Isabela; and another with the alias “Basari,” male, also a hawker.
Seized from them were five sachets of suspected shabu, the buy-bust money, two mobile phones and a motorcycle.
The suspected drugs found on their possession was estimated to have a street value of P170,000.
