The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Saturday announced that it will commit 20 modernized public utility vehicle (PUV) units to assist Light Rail Transit (LRT) 2 passengers following the fire that partially suspended its operations.
Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) spokesman Hernando Cabrera on radio said that the PUV would run from Santolan to Cubao with a fixed fare of P12 pesos and disclosed that LRT 2 operations from Recto to Cubao would resume on Monday.
The LRTA earlier announced that operations between Santolan, Katipunan and Anonas would be suspended for nine months and Cabrera also said they were still investigating the fire’s cause, though they had ruled out sabotage.
The commissioning engineers who participated in the creation of the power supply system for the LRT 2 would taking part in the investigation.
