The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) is set to release the budget to the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) for the procurement of sports equipment that would be needed for the country’s hosting of the 30th Southeast Asian Games (SEAG).
PSC chairman William “Butch” Ramirez said the move is in line with the tripartite agreement forged between the PSC, POC and the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (Phisgoc) in which the Olympic council would be the one to purchase the equipment based on the requests of the national sports associations (NSAs).
Aside from that, this measure would also ensure the arrival of the equipment in time for the biennial meet set from 30 November to 11 December.
So far, a total of 43 of the 56 NSAs have filed their requests with the POC.
The budget for the procurement would be derived from the P6.5-billion fund that the national government doled out to make sure that the prestigious 11-nation conclave that the country will be hosting for the fourth time would be a success.

Ramirez, however, stressed that this is the perfect time to display unity and teamwork to ensure the victory of Filipino athletes.
