Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) chief Aaron Aquino will ask online shopping platform Lazada to explain after tooters were discovered being peddled on its website.
Aquino reported the arrest of a drug suspect who admitted he bought his tooter online at P2,500.
Tooters are tubes used in sniffing powdered illegal drugs such as shabu and cocaine or inhaling smoke.
Aquino believes the online site should be held liable for the selling the drug equipment.
“Imposible na may pumapasok dyan na hindi nila alam eh. Sa akin ha imposible. Ibig sabihin mo wala man lang safeguard? Eh kung may magbenta ng shabu sa kanila jan, okay lang?’
Lazada’s Prohibited and Controlled Products Policy includes “Illicit Drugs, Precursors and Drug paraphernalia” among the banned items.
“Lazada shall remove product listings, issue non-compliance points or take other any action that it deems necessary at its sole and absolute discretion,” the online seller website states.
