The project involves the concreting of a 2-lane, 2.36-kilometer road connected to Calapan North Road.
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced Friday a completed road concreting project in Abra de Ilog, Occidental Mindoro will promote development and peace in the region.
“With the newly-concreted road, residents and locals will now experience seamless travel, while at the same time, help boost the agricultural growth and socio-economic status of the province, and encourage peace all throughout Occidental Mindoro,” said DPWH Secretary Mark Villar, referring to the road that will link far-flung communities in Sitio Apas, Mananao, Barangay Wawa to towns and cities.
“The main purpose of this project is to extend development to inaccessible, isolated areas to help build rapport between the conflict-affected areas and the government,” added Villar.
According to Villar, the P98.5-million Apias-Mananao project covers the 2-lane concreting of scenic 2.36-kilometer road connected to Calapan North Road. The said road also leads to the famous tourist destination of Agbalala Falls.
