Following the reports centering on his love life, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto said that “government officials should not be treated like showbiz personalities”.

Sotto called out the reports pertaining to his answer in a televised interview where he said he is accepting “applicants” for his future girlfriend.

The young mayor turned to Twitter Sunday saying that his personal life is not newsworthy. He added that he only answered in jest and to divert the topic.

I made this joke during an interview to change the topic.

Sotto is the son of actor-comedian Vic Sotto and actress Coney Reyes. He ended the 27-year rule of the Eusebio clan in Pasig after he won the top post in the city.
