Sen. Manny Pacquiao will temporarily forget boxing to resume his legislation duties, citing his support for the restoration of death penalty as one of his priorities.
The 40-year-old Pacquiao returned to the Senate on Tuesday and declared support for President Rodrigo Duterte’s call to revive the death sentence.
“It should have been passed in the 17th Congress,” Pacquiao told reporters.
Pacquiao won over the previously unbeaten Keith Thurman in Las Vegas on Sunday and wrested the American’s World Boxing Association super welterweight belt.
