Aside from criminal charges, Amador will undergo summary dismissal proceedings.
A police officer was arrested in a joint buy-bust operation conducted by the Southern Police District (SPD) and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in Taguig City last night.
PO1 Jeffrey Amador, assigned to SPD Headquarters, was arrested around 8:45 p.m. in his residence at 23F Providencia Street in Barangay Central Signal.
Seized from Amador were five sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu and a .45 caliber pistol with one magazine and five live bullets.
Chief Supt. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar, director of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), said intelligence reports of both the SPD and the NBI indicate Amador’s long-time involvement in illegal drug trafficking.

Eleazar gave Amador a tongue-lashing when the arrested cop was presented to the press.
“It’s very frustrating and disappointing that we have people like him in our ranks,” Eleazar said.
It was actually the wife of the arrested police officer who was instrumental in his arrest.
It’s very frustrating and disappointing that we have people like him in our ranks.
Eleazar said Amador became the subject of intelligence operation after the officer’s 22-year-old wife Michelle filed a formal complaint before the NBI, alleging her husband beat her repeatedly for no apparent reason.
Last 15 June, Michelle filed a complaint before the Taguig City Prosecutor’s Office, accusing her husband of inflicting physical and emotional abuse on her in violation of Republic Act 9262, otherwise known as “Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act.”
The wife told the police that Amador was already hooked on drugs even before he became a police officer on 29 December 2014.
Michelle said she hoped her husband would change his ways when he became a police officer.
“However, this did not happen. Instead, he became her nightmare,” Eleazar said.
Criminal charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunitions are being readied against Amador.
Eleazar said that aside from criminal charges, Amador will undergo summary dismissal proceedings.
