The Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) sustained its upward momentum as it reentered the 7,700-point mark to close Friday on a high note.
The bellwether exchange gained 0.46 percent or 35.53 points to close the trading week at 7,701.38. The last time the market went up the 7,700 floor was on June 11. The broader All Shares index gained 0.22 percent or 10.01 points, closing at 4,615.53.
All sub-indices maintained their respective mixed trends. Property firms recorded the best advancement Friday, up by 0.87 percent to 3,790.08. Mining and oil sector continued to slip, dropping half a percent to 9,771.97.
Losers beat winners by three, 89 to 86, while 50 issues remained unchanged during the Friday trade.
Both Metro Alliance Holdings’ shares led all the advancers. “B” shares gained 21.76 percent, while the “A” shares went up 17.5 percent, both ending at P2.35 per stock.

Cemex Holdings Philippines, meanwhile, topped all decliners slipping 9.48 percent to close at P3.15 per share. Paxys Holdings followed suit dropping 7.35 percent at P3.15 per stock as well.
A total of 1.292 billion issues were traded during the day, amounting to P6.216 billion in volume.
Two of Ayala’s listed firms were the most actively traded stocks. Ayala Land, Inc. led it all up by 1.22 percent, while Ayala Corporation closed second, trading 1.02 percent higher. Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company closed the day at third, with stock prices remaining unchanged.
