A police officer was gunned down after attending a hearing at the National Police Commission (NPC) in Makati City on Thursday afternoon.
Police Officer 2 Teejay Valdez was shot at least three times at the back by a lone assailant when he was about to board his vehicle at the NPC parking lot along Jupiter Street, according to investigators.
The victim attended a hearing in connection with an administrative case filed against him for three counts of grave misconduct during a shooting incident.
However, police said they are still consolidating closed-circuit television footage, testimonies of witnesses and other evidence to identify the suspected shooter. (Gladys Ablon)
