vOilah! French Film Festival returns with 34 films

The 42nd edition of the vOilah! French Film Festival will return to Singapore from 12 to 29 November 2026, featuring 34 films that showcase French cinema, from contemporary releases to acclaimed classics.
Organized by the Embassy of France in Singapore and co-presented by Alliance Française de Singapour, Shaw Organisation and Filmhouse, the festival will explore themes of history, courage, women's rights, identity and family through its film selections.
This year's lineup will be led by “De Gaulle I: Tilting Iron” and “De Gaulle II: The Sovereign Edge,” a two-part cinematic portrait of Charles de Gaulle, the French general who became a central figure in the French Resistance during World War II.
“De Gaulle I: Tilting Iron” was also included in the Official Selection, Out of Competition, at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.
The program also features “Les Misérables,” an adaptation of Victor Hugo's classic novel directed by Fred Cavayé, exploring themes of injustice, redemption and humanity.
Other selections revisit Paris through stories of romance, mystery and unexpected encounters, including “The Phantom of the Opera,” set in the iconic Palais Garnier; “The Electric Kiss,” which opened the 2026 Cannes Film Festival; and “Delicacy,” directed by David Foenkinos and Stéphane Foenkinos.
