Political narra-thieves
State actors and various political interest groups use huge resources peddling narratives which, for the most part, are effective in amplifying pre-existing political divides.

No one can underestimate the power of misleading political narratives in manipulating public opinion. By packaging complex issues into simple, emotionally charged stories, they basically reinforce held beliefs and, in the process, brainwash people into blindly supporting certain political agendas.
In fact, these narratives are even more dangerous than fake news. Unlike the latter, they use half-truths, selective facts, and emotional framing rather than easily disproven lies.
Because they use carefully selected fragments of information, misleading narratives easily buttress pre-existing beliefs, shared fears, and even political identity. By giving the semblance of legitimate truth, they can even persuade and convince people to embrace the ideas they effortlessly espouse.
With the help of internet trolls who manipulate social media algorithms by launching structurally coordinated attacks, these narratives systematically shift public opinion, silence opponents, and manufacture a false sense of consensus.
This is why state actors and various political interest groups use huge resources peddling narratives which, for the most part, are effective in amplifying pre-existing political divides.
Because people get brainwashed in the process, getting them to accept indubitable truths that run counter to their beliefs becomes difficult since they now refuse to sit down, listen and engage in healthy discourse.
As a content creator who sometimes moonlights as a self-proclaimed political analyst, I try my best to be objective in discussing issues in the hope that I can, at least in my own way, reach out to those who remain aware of what has been happening and encourage them to participate in crucial sociopolitical dialogue so they can bring their impartial views to the table and neutralize fabricated ideas that further deepen our division.
This is not easy, though. Social media right now is being run by interest groups who utilize the members of their respective echo chambers in pushing for their political propaganda, by ingeniously manufacturing public issues and running disinformation campaigns. In fact, anyone who unwittingly opposes them becomes an easy target of attack and ridicule if only to trivialize his legitimate takes on issues.
To be honest, I have been ridiculed and lambasted several times by coordinated groups who get uncomfortable with my contrary views, if only to force me to stop speaking my mind and telling it like it is.
Surely, I do not claim to monopolize the truth, as what is true and pure to begin with is not easy to determine. What I do, though, is attempt to be objective, which is actually the very antithesis of subjective manipulation that characterizes public discourse nowadays.
Truth be told, there’s quite a number of objective and sane-thinking people out there who wish to participate and articulate their sentiments. They are afraid to do so, anyway, because they know that, at some point, they could very well become the very subject of the same political narratives they seek to combat and oppose.
Hopefully, though, they find the courage to finally speak up.
