Villar Group chairman Manny Villar met the family and personally handed over the keys to their new home — a surprise that moved the siblings and their grandmother.
The donation was made through Vista Land as part of the company’s continuing commitment to help Filipino families achieve homeownership and build more secure lives.
Villar was moved by the story of the five siblings, who were left to face severe hardships after the death of their mother, who had worked in Hong Kong to provide for her family. Allas was reportedly dismissed from her job after falling ill. She later died in 2021 from complications related to late-stage cervical cancer.
A Hong Kong court subsequently ordered her former employer to pay approximately P2 million in damages for wrongful dismissal after learning of her illness. However, the family has yet to receive the award, as the employer reportedly went into hiding.
After their mother’s death, the children relied on the care and support of their aunt, Mary Anne, and their grandmother as they struggled to move forward.
During the turnover, Villar expressed hope that the new home would give the siblings the stability they need to heal, grow and pursue their dreams.
More than a house, the property provides a permanent foundation after years marked by grief and uncertainty. It is a place where the siblings can remain together, rebuild their lives and look toward a future their mother had worked so hard to secure.
For Vista Land, the gesture reflects the company’s broader mission of making homeownership possible for more Filipino families and helping create communities where people can live with dignity and hope. The donation also carries added significance as part of Vista Land’s “Road to 20” campaign, marking the company’s 20th anniversary in February 2027.
Founded by Villar, Vista Land has established a strong presence in the Philippine property sector through its residential developments, commercial centers, and master-planned communities. Its housing brands, led by Camella, have provided homes to families across the country.
