    The Quezon Huskers battered Zamboanga SiKat, 86-67, to boost their bid for the top playoff spot in the South division of the SportsPlus Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League 2026 Season at the Paco Arena in Manila on Tuesday.

    Powered by Joshua Yerro and Christian Pagaran, the Huskers led throughout en route to a 20-4 record that moved them closer to toppling Biñan Tatak Gel (21-4) from the No. 1 seeding in the division they have dominated the past two years.

    Other games saw the Caloocan Batang Kankaloo trounce the Batangas City Tanduay Athletics, 79-63, and San Juan dump Bulacan, 120-87.

    Caloocan, with Kymani Ladi and Jeff Manday at the helm, improved to 19-5 and remained No. 3 in the North division, behind defending national champion Abra Solid North, 23-2, and San Juan (22-3).

    The 6-foot-8 Ladi tallied 17 points, seven rebounds, and two assists to earn the SportsPlus Best Player honors over Manday, with 11 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals.

    Yerro posted 15 points and two assists, while Pagaran notched 14 points, five rebounds, and two assists as the Huskers stormed ahead, 86-61, and pulled Zamboanga down to 11-13.

    Other Huskers who delivered were Judel Fuentes, with 11 points and four rebounds, and Jolo Manansala, with 10 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
