  • The Spikers’ Turf will mark its 10th season with a milestone long envisioned by its founders – finally sharing the same stage and playdates with the Premier Volleyball League (PVL).

The men’s pioneering league’s 2026 Invitational Conference will open on 10 October at the SM Seaside Cebu Arena alongside the PVL’s All-Filipino Conference, putting the country’s top men’s and women’s volleyball leagues under one roof for the first time.

The historic triple-header will begin with Choco Mucho taking on Capital1 at 1 p.m., followed by a Spikers’ Turf match at 3:30 p.m.

Creamline and Akari will then cap the opening-day festivities at 6 p.m.

And it will not be a one-day arrangement.

Sports Vision Management Group Inc., which organizes both leagues, has decided to make the shared playdates a regular feature, with Spikers’ Turf matches sandwiched between PVL games every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

“Foremost, I would like to thank Cignal and Sports Vision, PVL, for making the dream possible,” Spikers’ Turf tournament director Mozzy Ravena said Monday during the league’s 10/10 press conference at Novotel Manila.

“It took 10 years. Even from the very beginning, we wanted to play side by side with the PVL and finally, as they say, dreams do come true. After 10 years, this is it, we’ll get to share the stage with the women’s teams in the PVL. Thank you so much for making it happen,” she added.

The Spikers’ Turf retains separate playdates of its own as 10 teams battle in the Invitational Conference.

Six squads from the Open Conference earlier this year will return, led by champion Criss Cross, along with Savouge, Alpha Insurance, Cabstars, 3B and VNS.

Newcomer Clearskiiin will make its league debut, while the Armed Forces of the Philippines returns to the Spikers’ Turf after an absence.

The field will be completed by the top two teams from the ongoing V-League Men’s Collegiate Challenge, giving the Invitational Conference a blend of established clubs, newcomers and collegiate standouts.

The 10 teams will play a single round-robin elimination, with the top four advancing to the round-robin semifinals, where they will be joined by two foreign guest teams.

The top two finishers will then clash in a knockout championship match.

For Sports Vision president Ricky Palou, the landmark 10th season reflects how far Philippine volleyball has progressed since the league was established.

“Ten seasons is a big milestone for us. When we started, our goal was simply to provide Filipino volleyball players with a platform to compete and showcase their talent. Ten seasons later, we’re very proud of how far the sport – and our leagues – have come,” Palou said.
