  • Police arrested a man who allegedly pointed a firearm at two people during a heated argument in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan, on Sunday evening, 13 September.

The victims were identified by police as a 33-year-old bouncer and a 29-year-old waitress, both employees of Wild Ladies Night Club and residents of Urdaneta City.

According to police, the confrontation stemmed from a discussion over the termination of the suspect’s girlfriend from her job, which later escalated into a verbal altercation.

At around 6:57 p.m., the suspect allegedly pulled out a small firearm and pointed it at the two victims.

A struggle over the firearm followed, during which one of the victims managed to disarm the suspect and take possession of the weapon.

The suspect fled the scene after the confrontation.

The incident was reported to the Urdaneta City Police Station at around 9:55 p.m., with the confiscated firearm turned over to responding police officers.

Police launched a hot pursuit operation and arrested the suspect shortly afterward.

The suspect remains in police custody pending the filing of appropriate charges for grave threats in relation to Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

The firearm is being held as evidence as authorities continue processing the case.
