Two men were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Dagupan City late Saturday night that resulted in the confiscation of five grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P34,000.

The suspects, identified as a 34-year-old married business owner engaged in the lechon business and a 33-year-old lechon vendor with a live-in partner, are both residents of Calasiao, Pangasinan.

Police Station 4 of the Dagupan City Police Office (DCPO), as the lead unit, conducted the operation from 11:53 p.m. on September 12 until 12:45 a.m. on September 13 in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 1 (PDEA RO1).

PDEAPolice said they recovered two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a total of five grams of suspected shabu, with a standard drug price (SDP) of P34,000.

Also seized during the operation were one genuine P500 bill used as buy-bust money, 12 photocopied P1,000 bills used as boodle money, a black pouch, a Samsung cellular phone, and a Honda TMX 125 motorcycle bearing plate number 419RZX.

The operation was conducted by personnel of Station 4, DCPO, the City Police Drug Enforcement Unit (CPDEU), City Intelligence Unit (CIU), City Investigation and Detective Management Unit (CIDMU), and PDEA RO1.

Authorities said the confiscated evidence was marked and inventoried at the scene in the presence of the required witnesses and the suspects, in accordance with legal procedures.

The two suspects are expected to face charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
