MISAMIS ORIENTAL — A police staff sergeant assigned to the Villanueva Municipal Police Station has been arrested and placed under custody for allegedly raping a minor, according to initial reports. The officer is also known as a social media blogger.
Initial information gathered by the news team indicated that the alleged incident took place inside a cemetery. The suspect was also accused of transporting the victim in a police patrol car in connection with the incident.
Police Maj. Joan Navarro confirmed the arrest and said the Misamis Oriental Police Provincial Office (MORPPO) would issue an official statement.
“The suspect has been arrested and will undergo inquest proceedings today. An administrative case is also being prepared for filing. There will be no cover-up or whitewash. Any wrongdoing by our personnel will never be tolerated, and the PNP will ensure that the case is properly investigated and that due process is observed,” Navarro said.
A full statement from MORPPO detailing the case and the status of the suspect is expected to be released.
