Man arrested for statutory rape

A 30-year-old man was arrested for sexual abuse and statutory rape along S. De Guzman Street in Barangay 165, Malibay, Pasay City, on Friday night.
The suspect was identified as alias Angelo, 30, unemployed.
Initial investigation showed that the 12-year-old female victim met the suspect in Taguig City on 18 August 2026 and was subsequently taken to a hotel in Pasay City, where the initial abuse occurred.
The suspect then brought the minor to his residence in Malibay, where she was kept until 21 August.
On Friday morning, following another alleged act of abuse, the victim managed to discreetly contact her mother and ask for help.
The victim’s mother immediately sought assistance from the Taguig City Police Station’s Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD).
Taguig WCPD and Department of Social Welfare and Development personnel coordinated with Pasay City Police Station Sub-Station 6, leading to a joint operation that resulted in the rescue of the victim and the arrest of the suspect at his residence.
The suspect was brought to Pasay City General Hospital for medical examination before being turned over to the Pasay City Police Station for documentation.
Formal complaints for violation of Republic Act 11648, or the law promoting stronger protection against rape and sexual exploitation and abuse, are being prepared for inquest proceedings before the Pasay City Prosecutor’s Office.
