A 34-year-old unemployed man was arrested after police seized around 360 grams of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan, late Monday night.
The operation was conducted at about 11:27 p.m. on September 7, 2026, by personnel of the Pangasinan Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PPDEU), together with the Provincial Intelligence Unit of the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office, Regional Intelligence Division of Police Regional Office 1, Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit, Police Intelligence Team of Pangasinan Regional Intelligence Unit 1, Police Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit 1, and the Urdaneta City Police Station.
The operation was conducted in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 1.
Police said the suspect, a resident of Urdaneta City, was arrested after allegedly selling suspected shabu to an undercover officer.
Recovered during the operation were seven heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu with a combined estimated weight of 360 grams and an estimated standard drug price of P2.448 million.
Authorities also recovered the genuine P1,000 buy-bust money, 79 pieces of P1,000 machine-copy bills allegedly used as boodle money, a black Realme smartphone and a black sling bag.
The inventory, marking and photographing of the seized evidence were initially conducted at the scene and later continued inside the Urdaneta City Police Station due to inclement weather.
The suspect was brought to the Urdaneta City Police Station for temporary detention, while the seized items were submitted to the Pangasinan Provincial Forensic Unit in Lingayen for laboratory examination.
Authorities are preparing charges for alleged violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, covering the sale and possession of dangerous drugs.
