A 30-year-old delivery rider was arrested after police seized 4.47 grams of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur on Sunday, September 6, 2026.
The operation started at about 7:42 p.m. and was conducted by personnel of the Vigan City Police Station, together with the Ilocos Sur Provincial Intelligence Unit, Provincial Intelligence Unit, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, Regional Intelligence Division of Police Regional Office 1 and Maritime Group, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 1.
The suspect, a 30-year-old single man and resident of the area, was arrested during the operation.
Police said they recovered four heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a total of 4.47 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated standard drug price of P30,396.
Also seized were a self-sealing plastic bag containing masking tape, another self-sealed transparent plastic bag, an Android smartphone, a blue Yamaha NMAX motorcycle and a genuine P1,000 bill allegedly used in the drug transaction.
The seized items were inventoried and marked at the scene in the presence of the suspect and the required witnesses, in accordance with legal procedures.
The suspect is set to face charges for alleged violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
