Omoda and Jaecoo Philippines has confirmed the local launch of iCaur this October 2026. The young marque started business in China back in 2023 under the original nameplate iCar.

The company exists through an automotive venture between Chery and SmartMi Technology. The partner company operates as a key equipment supplier within the Xiaomi corporate network.

The introduction makes iCaur the fourth sub-brand under Chery International to do business on local shores. Local operations fall under Omoda and Jaecoo Philippines, an established subsidiary of Chery International.

The lineup uses boxy exterior proportions across all its models. Company executives market the straight sheet metal lines as an alternative to curvy aerodynamic body panels.

Announcements claim that iCaur leads a boxy new-energy vehicle segment across Southeast Asian markets. The brand uses the initial letter in its name to point to ideas like inner self, intellect, imagination, and interactive tech to connect with younger motorists.

Local showrooms will introduce two specific vehicle choices at launch. Drivers can select between the all-electric iCaur V23 and the range-extended iCaur V27.

The iCaur V23 is a compact sport utility vehicle that runs exclusively on battery energy. The model carries a retro-inspired appearance that matches broader vehicle styling trends among Chinese automakers today.

Official equipment sheets and retail prices for the Philippine market remain under wraps. Overseas releases offer a good picture of performance numbers. In foreign markets, the compact vehicle features battery packs that hold between 50.6 kilowatt-hours and 81.7 kilowatt-hours of electrical capacity.

Those energy packs deliver a driving distance of up to 470 kilometers on a full charge. The electric motor configurations abroad deliver between 136 horsepower and 455 horsepower.

The larger iCaur V27 enters dealerships as a midsize sport utility vehicle. The vehicle uses a range-extended electric powertrain configuration that the company names the Golden REEV.

This design pairs electric propulsion with an on-board 1.5-liter turbocharged gas engine that makes 143 horsepower. The gas unit acts as a generator to replenish battery capacity during travel.

Foreign specifications for the midsize SUV show two separate drive options. Buyers abroad can pick a single rear electric motor that makes 252 horsepower.

Drivers who want more muscle can select a dual-motor all-wheel layout with a total output of 456 horsepower.

The gas generator and battery system combine to give the vehicle an overall driving distance of up to 1,110 kilometers.

Both models will arrive at local dealerships in October. Omoda and Jaecoo Philippines plans to release official retail prices and package equipment lists closer to dealership arrival dates.
