The Bureau of Customs (BoC) has secured enhanced healthcare benefits for its employees, retirees and their dependents through a partnership with Medical Center Manila Inc. (ManilaMed).

Under a memorandum of agreement signed 27 August 2026, eligible members of the customs community will receive discounted rates on medical care at the ManilaMed.

The agreement grants a 5 percent discount on outpatient services and a 10 percent discount on emergency room treatments and inpatient hospitalization.

Discounts apply to out-of-pocket expenses after PhilHealth coverage and other statutory benefits are deducted.

ManilaMed will also establish a dedicated express lane for customs beneficiaries covering outpatient consultations, hospital admissions, laboratory testing and billing.

Standard priority services for senior citizens, persons with disabilities and pregnant women will remain active.

BoC deputy commissioner Raul Nagrampa and ManilaMed president Dr. Eduardo Eseque signed the agreement at the customs headquarters.

Customs commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno said the partnership reflects the bureau’s commitment to employee welfare.

Meantime, Nagrampa added that behind every customs officer is a family sharing the burdens of public service.

While individual medical expenses remain the responsibility of personnel and their dependents, the bureau said it will coordinate with ManilaMed to ensure smooth program implementation.
