    • P2.72 million shabu seizure

Police seized an estimated P2.72 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested three individuals Wednesday morning following a response to a report of indiscriminate gunfire in Barangay 162 in Caloocan City.

According to a report submitted to Northern Police District (NPD) director Brig. Gen. Benliner Capili by Caloocan Police chief Col. Joey Goforth, officers responded around 7:25 a.m. to a complaint regarding a shooting incident in the Del Rey area.

A local barangay official accompanied responding officers to the scene, where they spotted two men carrying firearms. The suspects attempted to flee in a Nissan Terra but were cut off and apprehended by police.

Officers confiscated a 9 mm pistol loaded with five rounds and approximately 400 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P2,720,000 from a 51-year-old suspect identified by police as “alias Rolly.”

The vehicle’s driver, a 55-year-old suspect identified as “Manny,” was found with a .45-caliber pistol loaded with four live rounds.

Police also arrested a 41-year-old woman identified as “May” on obstruction of justice charges after she allegedly tried to prevent officers from arresting her husband, Rolly.

The two main suspects face charges including illegal discharge of firearms and violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
