The local government of Pasig City and Unilab Foundation Inc. (ULF)entered into a partnership aimed at strengthening primary health care, optimizing PhilHealth processes, and expanding mental health support for students and local communities.

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto and ULF executive director Jose Maria Ochave signed the memorandum of understanding. The initiative will be implemented through the Pasig Local Health Board alongside ULF’s Sustainable Healthcare and Heads Up PH programs.

Under the agreement, the two entities will collaborate to bolster Pasig’s primary healthcare system, improve fiscal efficiency in local health financing, provide technical support for school mental health programs, and streamline PhilHealth utilization.

A major focus of the partnership involves reviewing Pasig’s local health financing system, with an emphasis on health expenditures, benefit utilization, and reimbursement processing. City officials expect the review to reduce delays and maximize PhilHealth revenues to sustain municipal health facilities.

The partners will also address operational bottlenecks involving PhilHealth YAKAP registration, facility accreditation, and claims submission across city facilities. Exploring simplified procedures and digital solutions aims to make transactions more efficient for both health workers and patients.
