Police have arrested a Canadian national wanted for human trafficking as part of an ongoing crackdown on fugitive suspects, the Philippine National Police (PNP) announced.

Officers from the Mandaluyong City Police Station’s Warrant and Subpoena Section apprehended the 44-year-old suspect, identified by police under the alias “Donald,” Monday along F. Martinez Street in Barangay Plainview.

The arrest was executed under an alias warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 213 in Mandaluyong City for alleged violations of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003.

Following his arrest, the suspect underwent a medical examination and was transferred to the Mandaluyong City Police Station custodial facility, where he remains held pending legal proceedings.

PNP chief Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the operation underscores the agency’s commitment to enforcing judicial warrants without regard to citizenship.

“Whether Filipino or foreign national, if there is a valid warrant, we have a duty to enforce it properly,” Nartatez said. “We will continue to do that with fairness, professionalism, and respect for due process.”
