The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) continues to deliver mail, parcels and official government documents across major parts of Luzon and Metro Manila despite heavy rains and rising floodwaters, agency officials said Wednesday.
Postal workers equipped with protective rain gear remain deployed to deliver mail, parcels, government communications and Postal IDs while monitoring local safety conditions.
“Rain may fall and floodwaters may rise, but the need to communicate does not stop,” PHLPost said in a statement. “PHLPost remains committed to delivering essential postal services while ensuring the safety of our personnel and the public.”
As of Wednesday, post offices remain open and operational in the National Capital Region, as well as the provinces of Abra, Benguet, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac, Zambales, Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, Occidental Mindoro and Oriental Mindoro.
The state postal carrier noted that temporary service adjustments may be implemented in areas with severe flooding, impassable roadways or major transportation disruptions.
PHLPost is monitoring local conditions alongside regional field offices to maintain mail delivery where safe to do so.
Agency officials assured the public that essential mail and parcel deliveries remain a priority while balancing worker and customer safety.
