Alex Eala’s stint in the Cincinnati Open comes to a close after a 6-4, 4-6, 2-6 loss to world No. 10 and home bet Amanda Anisimova in the Round of 32 at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio on Tuesday.

Eala, 21, tried to compete but lost steam as she lost to Anisimova in two hours and 28 minutes of game time.

It will be her final tournament as she shifts her focus on the US Open in New York City on 30 August.
