Maxim Rides & Food Delivery has started operations in Ormoc City, where residents can now use its mobile app to book rides or arrange deliveries.

The platform offers four-seat and six-seat car services. Fares start at P45 for the smaller vehicle and P55 for the larger option.

Customers may also book tricycles through the app or send packages through its motorcycle delivery service. Rates for both services start at P10, although the final fare will depend on the distance and booking details.

Maxim said its arrival in Ormoc will give commuters another transport option while opening additional work opportunities for local drivers. The service enters a market where tricycles remain an important part of daily travel, particularly for short trips around the city.

Driver-partners pay a commission of 15 percent to 18 percent, depending on their agreement with the platform. New members will initially receive a zero-percent commission rate so they can try the system before the regular charge applies. Maxim did not state how long the introductory period would last.

“We are excited to bring Maxim’s services to Ormoc and provide residents with an affordable, reliable and convenient way to travel and send items,” Maxim Ormoc head Donald Maing said.

Maing added that the company expects to recruit more drivers as demand for rides and deliveries grows in the city.

Bookings are made through the Maxim app, which is available for Android and iOS phones. Drivers use a separate Taxsee Driver app to receive and complete orders.

Maxim entered the Philippine market in 2020 and began its local operations in Cebu. Its services have since reached 22 other cities across the country, with Ormoc now included in its network.

The company operates as a licensed transport network company that may arrange passenger trips by car. It also participates in the government’s motorcycle taxi pilot program in Metro Manila and Cagayan de Oro.

Its Ormoc operation combines passenger transport and delivery bookings in one app. However, availability will depend on the number of active driver-partners near the customer at the time of booking.

Maxim said it plans to add more drivers as it builds its presence in the city. Residents may register as customers or apply as driver-partners through the company’s mobile applications.
