Twenty-two Filipino seafarers from the vessels MT Acheloos and MV ELSE returned to the Philippines Monday following their repatriation from overseas.

The 14 seafarers from MT Acheloos arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 in Pasay City aboard Qatar Airways Flight QR932. Their vessel was damaged after being hit by a missile while sailing near the coast of Oman on 20 July.

During their stay in Oman, the Philippine Embassy assisted the crew as part of its response to the incident.

Meanwhile, eight Filipino seafarers from MV ELSE, who were among those affected by drone attacks in the Black Sea, arrived in the Philippines via Turkish Airlines Flight TK084.

Representatives from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) assisted the returning seafarers at the airport.

The OWWA and DMW also provided the seafarers with airport assistance and special financial assistance upon their arrival.

In coordination with their respective licensed manning agencies, medical checkups, temporary accommodations and other assistance were arranged before the seafarers returned to their families.
