What if the words that once stopped you in an art gallery could follow you home?

That is the idea behind Notes to Self by Geloy Concepcion, where the Filipino artist and storyteller brings the emotional language of his work beyond the gallery and onto denim.

Known for his handwritten reflections on hope, self-compassion, vulnerability and connection, Concepcion has a way of turning simple words into deeply personal reminders.

Now, those reminders are stitched into fashion — transforming everyday denim into wearable pieces of art.

The collection features embroidered messages that carry simple yet powerful reminders: “I’ve Got Too Much Love for One Life” — embrace life; “I Hope You Choose Your Own Happiness” — choose yourself; “Don’t Let the Hard Days Win” — keep going; “Dream a Little More, My Friend” — keep dreaming; and “Learn to Take Up Space and Be Louder” — own your voice.

Each one feels like a tiny artwork in itself: intimate, honest, and quietly personal. But instead of encountering them on a gallery wall, you can now carry these words with you.

The collection feels like a natural extension of Concepcion’s acclaimed project, “Things You Wanted to Say But Never Did,” which began in 2019 with one simple question: “What are the things you wanted to say but never did?”

The question opened the floodgates.

Almost 300,000 messages eventually reached Concepcion, filled with confessions, fears, hopes, insecurities, questions, and everything people struggled to say out loud. More than 3,000 notes were published, transforming what began as a social media prompt into an intimate archive of human emotions.

The project later entered the physical world through an exhibition at the Ateneo Art Gallery, where the anonymous voices that had lived online became something visitors could encounter in person.

At its core, “Things You Wanted to Say But Never Did” has always been about connection — about finding comfort in the realization that the feelings we keep to ourselves are rarely ours alone.

Now, that same sentiment moves from the exhibition space into something much more everyday.

Denim becomes the canvas. A pair of jeans becomes the gallery wall.

A handwritten thought becomes artwork you can carry with you.
