The landslide occurred at around 8 a.m. after a portion of the mountainside collapsed due to loose, rain-soaked soil amid heavy rains brought by Tropical Storm Maymay.
According to initial reports, seven people were inside the establishment when the landslide struck. Four managed to escape unharmed immediately after the collapse.
Rescuers rushed to the scene and dug through the mud to reach those trapped inside.
Three people were pulled from the debris. Two were declared dead at the scene, while the third victim, who showed signs of life, was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
Authorities are continuing to assess the area and investigate the incident.
