Rodney Santos is set to officially serve as head coach of San Sebastian College in Season 102 of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) men’s basketball tournament.
Santos has been handling the affairs of the Golden Stags in an interim capacity following the abrupt departure of Tony Tan, who was supposed to be the replacement of Rob Labagala.
But after steering “Baste” to a forgettable performance in the 19th Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup, the school, headed by Rev. Fr. Rafael Pecson decided to officially named him as head coach so he can focus on the coming NCAA wars.
Joining Santos' staff are former Philippine Basketball Association players John Ferriols and Wynne Arboleda, as well as Louie Empleo and Migo Santos.
The appointment marks Santos’ return at the helm after leading San Sebastian to a 6-12 win-loss record for a seventh-place finish in Season 91 in 2015.
