Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries in Navotas received more than financial assistance as they also underwent disaster preparedness training in observance of National Disaster Resilience Month.
The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office led the Disaster Preparedness Orientation to equip 4Ps beneficiaries with practical knowledge on proper disaster preparedness, evacuation and emergency response.
Mayor John Rey Tiangco said a safe community begins with prepared households. Through the “NavReady: Handang Pamilya, Matatag na Lungsod” campaign, the city government aims to ensure that every family knows what to do before, during and after disasters.
The local government expressed hope that through such programs, more Navoteño families will become prepared, safe and resilient in the face of disasters.
