The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) has remitted P138.12-million worth of dividends to the national coffers, reflecting the agency's continued financial contribution to the country's development agenda.
During the 2026 GOCCs' Day held at the Ceremonial Hall of Malacañan Palace on July 8, AFAB and other government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs) were hailed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for their contribution to the national government.
President Marcos recognized AFAB for its P138.12-million contribution. This year's GOCCs' Day highlighted the collective remittance of ₱140 billion as of July 8, 2026, out of the ₱147.15 billion in dividends declared by 50 GOCCs.
Dividend remittances remain a vital source of non-tax revenue that supports the government's priority programs, infrastructure projects, and public services.
Held pursuant to Republic Act No. 7656, or the Dividend Law, the annual event affirms the role of GOCCs in nation-building through prudent financial management, responsible governance, and sustained contributions to the National Government.
The AFAB recorded 35,939 total employees in the Freeport Area of Bataan for 2025. This workforce is highly localized, with 84.77% of workers residing in the Province of Bataan. Out of the 35,939 workers, 67.5% (24,259) were regular employees. The rest were classified as probationary, project-based, or seasonal.
