Ahead of its 16 July launch, Ragnarok: The New World put its developers in the hot seat by inviting veteran players to its Shanghai studio for an unfiltered question-and-answer session driven by the community.
Filipino content creators Myrtle Sarrosa and Nikkinikki, together with Thailand’s Junqko and Shipdont, served as “chief examiners,” collecting thousands of questions from viewers during a livestream.
The questions covered class balance, the in-game economy, trading systems, future updates, and long-term content plans, giving the development team an opportunity to address player concerns directly.
Rather than a scripted studio tour, the visit evolved into an open discussion after the creators learned that the game’s core developers were longtime Ragnarok Online players themselves.
The team said its goal is to build a next-generation Ragnarok experience created by fans of the franchise for its community.
The livestream also revealed plans for official large-scale tournaments and gave the creators an exclusive hands-on preview of Druid, a new class that will debut with the Southeast Asia launch.
According to the developers, opening the studio to community scrutiny reflects a commitment to transparency and meaningful player feedback instead of relying solely on traditional marketing.
