SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union-- Marking his first year in office, La Union Governor Mario Eduardo C. Ortega stressed that improvements in provincial services resulted from collective effort rather than a single office.
"Aramid bannog tayo Amin" (we all did the work), Ortega emphasized during the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony at the Provincial Capitol on July 6, 2026.
The governor lauded the Provincial Government of La Union workforce for their dedication.
Ortega urged the employees to raise the standard of public service in the coming years. He outlined upcoming infrastructure initiatives under his administration including the establishment of a Medical Hub and a Sports Arena. The sports facility is intended to support the development of local athletes, drawing inspiration from Filipino tennis player Alex Eala.
The provincial administration aims for the said projects to improve provincial healthcare, support local sports, and create community opportunities.
During the ceremony, the provincial government also recognized several retirees for their years of public service which officials noted aligns with the administration's ongoing focus on its "Agkaysa"(Unite) service framework.
