Justice Secretary Frederick A. Vida inaugurated the Department of Justice (DOJ) Cottage in Baguio City, a multi-purpose facility designed to support DOJ personnel and partner agencies serving the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
The facility was inaugurated during a simple ceremony on 24 June attended by DOJ officials and personnel, along with representatives from the CAR Regional Prosecution Office, the Office of the City Prosecutor-Baguio, the National Bureau of Investigation, and the Registry of Deeds. A Holy Mass and blessing of the facility were also held.
The cottage will serve as official accommodation for DOJ officials and personnel on regional assignments and as a venue for conferences, training programs, and other institutional activities.
"The DOJ Cottage is more than a shelter; it is an investment in the well-being and productivity of those who serve the public. Guided by the Bagong Pilipinas vision of His Excellency President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' R. Marcos Jr., this facility embodies our unyielding resolve to uphold the rule of law and deliver real justice for every Filipino," Vida said.
Designed to accommodate prosecutors, staff, and visiting personnel from attached agencies and partner government institutions, the facility aims to ease logistical challenges in regional operations while providing a secure and convenient base for collaboration in the Cordillera.
The cottage includes lodging facilities, meeting spaces that can be used for training and conferences, and other support amenities for personnel assigned to longer regional projects and deployments.
The DOJ said the inauguration underscores the department's commitment to strengthening its regional presence, improving employee welfare, and enhancing the delivery of justice services across the country.
