More informal settler families (ISFs) in Antipolo City have secured land ownership under the administration's Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program, the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) said.
Through the Enhanced Community Mortgage Program (ECMP), DHSUD and the Social Housing Finance Corporationdistributed individual land titles to beneficiaries, ending years of uncertainty for hundreds of families.
More than 200 members of the San Isidro Labrador Homeowners Association received land titles, while over 600 beneficiaries from Sitio Sto. Niño de Pasig in Antipolo were also awarded individual Transfer Certificates of Title during a recent distribution.
Elme Reyz, president of the San Isidro Labrador Homeowners Association Phase 1, said receiving the land title gives families confidence that they can provide a permanent home for future generations.
Gerardo Paderes, president of the association's Phase 2, said the titles fulfilled a dream that residents had pursued since becoming informal settlers in 1995, providing them with long-awaited security of tenure.
DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling said every land title represents security and opportunity for Filipino families.
"Ang seguridad sa paninirahan ay nagbibigay ng katiyakan sa bawat pamilya na ang kanilang tahanan ay kanila nang maipapamana sa susunod na henerasyon. Higit sa titulo, ito ay pagkilala sa kanilang karapatan at pundasyon ng mas matatag at mas maunlad na kinabukasan para sa kanila at sa kanilang mga anak," Aliling said.
He added that the administration aims to help more Filipinos own decent, safe, and affordable homes through the expanded housing program.
