The Pru POP Run, a one-of-a-kind running event that combines fitness, music, nostalgia and Filipino pop culture in a vibrant celebration of health, protection and community, gets going 30 August at the Ayala Triangle Gardens in Makati.

From first-timers to seasoned athletes, the event with five categories — 3K, 5K, 10K, 21K and a special 30K — takes place in celebration of the company’s 30th anniversary in the country.

“We wanted to combine protection with the joy, vibrancy, and nostalgia of pop culture, and share that experience with more Filipinos through one meaningful celebration. Whether you’re new to running or a seasoned athlete, we have different race distances for you,” said Pru Life UK head of Brand and Integrated Marketing Communications chief Kats Cajucom said.

“The Pru POP Run is more than just a race for us. It brings to life our brand promise — hence the name PruPOP, or Promise of Protection — in an active, meaningful, and engaging way that goes beyond the conventional.”

The race passes through landmarks in Makati City and Bonifacio Global City.

More than just another running event, Pru Life UK Chief Legal, Government Relations, and Sustainability Officer Atty. Calvin Kohchet-Chua said the Pru POP Run aims to serve as a bonding activity for families and friends while encouraging participants to stay active and healthy.

“The Pru POP Run is a celebration of that shared purpose. It brings individuals, friends, families, colleagues and communities together so they can support one another and embrace daily habits that contribute to building a better life,” said Kohchet-Chua.

Registration is now open at www.prupoprun.com. The special 30K race serves as a fitting tribute to Pru Life UK’s three decades of helping Filipinos build a more secure future.

“PRU Pop Run is all about encouraging Filipinos to take a more holistic approach to building a brighter future. At Pru Life UK, we believe that building a healthier and wealthier future starts with insurance and is strengthened by the discipline to show up and make better, more responsible choices every day,” added Sanjay Chakrabarty, Pru Life UK president and chief executive officer, during the event launch Thursday at Electric Garden in Bonifacio Global City.
