JHMC bags environmental awards, renews air quality monitoring partnership

BAGUIO CITY — The John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC) received three environmental awards and renewed its commitment to air quality monitoring during the 9th Environmental Summit held on 30 June at Newtown Plaza in Baguio City.
The summit, themed "Binnadang ti Umili: Cordillera Shared Eco-Governance," highlighted collaborative environmental stewardship. "Binnadang ti Umili" is an Ilocano term that means working together as one community.
JHMC was recognized for its environmental protection initiatives, sustainable practices, and efforts to expand the green canopy of Camp John Hay beyond its jurisdiction.
The corporation received the BADANG Award (Best Adherence to Discipline for Advancing National Green Governance), the Excellence in Air Quality Monitoring and Management Award, and the Environmental Information, Education and Communication (IEC) Leadership Award.
The awards were received by JHMC President and Chief Executive Officer Manjit Singh Reandi, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Jane Theresa Tabalingcos, and Environment Manager Editha Mejia.
During the summit, JHMC also renewed its partnership under the Adopt-an-Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Station Program through the signing of a memorandum of agreement.
The renewed partnership strengthens the corporation's role in monitoring air quality within Camp John Hay and supporting efforts to maintain a healthier environment for residents, workers, and visitors.
JHMC thanked its partners for the recognition, saying the awards reflect the organization's continued commitment to green governance, environmental protection, and sustainable development.
