Kapuso actor David Licauco recorded a personal best and finished as the highest-ranked Filipino competitor at HYROX Jakarta 2026.
Licauco completed the hybrid fitness race in 1:07:38, topping the Filipino field among 3,166 participants. He also placed ninth in the Men's 30-34 division and finished 28th overall in the Men's Open category.
The competition was held from 27 to 28 June at the Nusantara International Convention Exhibition in Tangerang, Banten, Indonesia.
HYROX combines eight one-kilometer runs with eight functional workout stations, testing competitors' endurance, strength, and overall fitness.
Licauco credited his improved performance to a focused training program designed by strength and conditioning coach Miguel Aytona.
Despite achieving a personal best, the actor said he believes he can still improve.
"I feel I could've done better. I learned a lot, but I'll work harder for the next race," he said.
Licauco added that his long-term goal is to become one of the world's top HYROX athletes while encouraging more Filipinos to embrace fitness.
"My goal is to be Top 3 in the world and inspire more Filipinos to live a healthy lifestyle," he said.
The result builds on his performance at HYROX Taiwan earlier this year, where he also finished as the highest-ranked Filipino in the Men's Open division.
