The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Tuesday reaffirmed its support for the constitutional right to peaceful assembly but reminded the public that all demonstrations must comply with existing laws and local regulations.

In a statement, the AFP urged rally organizers to ensure their activities do not unnecessarily disrupt public order or inconvenience commuters, workers, students, and the general public.

"The AFP recognizes and respects the constitutional right of every Filipino to peacefully assemble and express their views. At the same time, we underscore that all public activities must be conducted in accordance with existing laws, local regulations, and the necessary permits issued by the appropriate authorities, with the Philippine National Police and other law enforcement agencies taking the lead in maintaining order," the AFP said.

The military said it remains a professional and nonpartisan institution committed to supporting peace, public safety, and the rule of law. It added that its NCR-based units continue to monitor the situation and coordinate closely with the Philippine National Police and other government agencies over the ongoing rally along EDSA.
