I’ve spent more than 25 years in the fashion industry, building a brand that focuses on beautifully crafted handbags and accessories with a unique point of view.

Beginnings

I started my journey in fashion and accessories over two decades ago. My background was in design, and I was always fascinated by the intersection of art, craftsmanship and functionality. What began as a creative passion eventually evolved into RAFE New York. I wanted to create accessories that felt luxurious, distinctive, and timeless while telling a unique story through design.

Challenges

One of the biggest challenges was building a brand from the ground up in a highly competitive industry. As an independent designer, you have to wear many hats — designer, entrepreneur, marketer and problem-solver. There were moments of uncertainty, especially during economic downturns and shifts in the retail landscape, but those challenges taught me resilience and the importance of staying true to the brand’s vision.

Where I am now

Today I continue to lead RAFE New York, focusing on design, brand development and exploring new opportunities for growth. I’m involved in creating collections that reflect both craftsmanship and innovation while adapting to the evolving needs of modern consumers. I also enjoy mentoring emerging creatives and sharing what I’ve learned from my entrepreneurial journey.

Wisdom

I’ve learned that success comes from consistency, authenticity and patience. Trends come and go, but a clear vision and commitment to quality will always have value. Don’t be afraid to take risks, but make sure those risks are aligned with who you are and what you stand for. Most importantly, build genuine relationships — people often remember how you made them feel long after they remember what you sold them.
