Law enforcement agencies seized an estimated P40.06 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 110 suspects during a weeklong nationwide crackdown, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) announced over the weekend.
PDEA director general Isagani Nerez said a total of 83 operations were conducted across the country from 18 to 25 June in coordination with the Philippine National Police and other law enforcement bodies.
Among those taken into custody, 76 individuals were identified as suspected drug dealers and 19 were arrested for alleged possession.
All suspects face criminal charges for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
“These accomplishments reflect the commitment of PDEA, the Philippine National Police, and other law enforcement agencies in protecting our communities from the threat of illegal drugs,” Nerez said in a statement.
