DHSUD ramps up aid for Mindanao quake victims

The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and partner agencies continue to deliver shelter assistance to families affected by the 7.8-magnitude earthquake that struck Mindanao on 8 June.
Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling said the ongoing efforts comply with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to extend all possible government assistance until affected communities recover.
The National Housing Authority has begun distributing cash aid under its Emergency Housing Assistance Program to about 2,865 households in parts of Sarangani, with validation ongoing for additional beneficiaries in the Davao Region.
DHSUD regional offices, together with partner agencies including the United Nations-International Organization for Migration and Australian Aid, have also distributed shelter-grade tarpaulins and repair kits to thousands of affected families.
Assistance efforts are ongoing in quake-hit areas.
