EPD secures White Ribbon March

The Eastern Police District (EPD) has implemented comprehensive security operations to ensure the safe, orderly, and peaceful conduct of the faith-based rally dubbed "White Ribbon March" on 28 June.
To ensure the peaceful and orderly conduct of the rally, the EPD has deployed a substantial number of police personnel around the EDSA Shrine. Serving as civil disturbance management contingents, they are tasked with maintaining public order, ensuring the safety of participants, and providing security throughout the activity.
Meanwhile, personnel from the district headquarters and the city police starions in Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, and San Juan City will remain on reactionary standby support force status at their respective headquarters, ready to provide immediate augmentation and response to any contingency that may arise.
In addition to event security operations, the EPD will continuously conduct intensified anti-criminality operations across Metro East, particularly in places of convergence, transport terminals, major thoroughfares, commercial establishments, and other strategic areas to prevent criminal activities and ensure the safety and security of the public before, during, and after the activity.
The EPD assured all participants and the general public that all deployed personnel have been directed to strictly observe the principles of maximum tolerance and uphold the respect for and protection of human rights in the performance of their duties.
Likewise, extensive coordination and collaboration with concerned government agencies, local government units, force multipliers, emergency response units, and other stakeholders have been undertaken to facilitate the peaceful, orderly, and successful conduct of the event.
EPD acting district director P/Brig. Gen. Melecio Buslig Jr. emphasized the district's commitment to balancing public safety and security with the protection of constitutional rights.
"The Eastern Police District remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring a peaceful and orderly White Ribbon March. Our personnel are directed to exercise maximum tolerance, uphold human rights, and work closely with our partner agencies and local government units to guarantee the safety of all participants and the public while respecting every individual's constitutional right to peaceful assembly," Buslig said.
