CAAP: No injuries after ceiling panel falls at Bicol airport

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) confirmed that no injuries were reported after a ceiling panel collapse at the Bicol International Airport Terminal on Thursday, 25 June.
Personnel from the CSIS Landside Unit and the Airport Medical Team immediately responded after a ceiling panel of the airport terminal's well-wishers detached and fell in front of a restaurant at around 5:50 p.m.
CAAP said the affected area was immediately secured and access was restricted as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of the traveling public and airport personnel.
Airport engineering teams have conducted a thorough structural assessment, with repair and restoration works to commence upon completion of safety clearance procedures.
“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and concern this incident may have caused. We assure the public that immediate preventive measures are already being undertaken to address the issue and to ensure that similar incidents do not happen again,” CAAP Director General Retired Lt. Gen. Raul del Rosario said.
CAAP reiterated its commitment to passenger safety and operational integrity.
