TACLOBAN CITY – Anti-drug operatives from the Tacloban City Police Drug Enforcement Unit (CPDEU) arrested a drug dealer and confiscated suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation conducted in Lumbang 1, Brgy. 96 Calanipawan, Tacloban City, on 25 June 2026.
The arrested suspect was identified as alias “Gabs,” an unemployed 46-year-old man who is listed as a high-value individual and a resident of this city.
Operatives confiscated from the suspect two pieces heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, 11 pieces knot-tied transparent plastic sachets containing the same substance, a digital weighing scale, a sling bag, and bogus money used in the operation.
The Tacloban City Police Office said an estimated 850 grams of suspected shabu were confiscated worth P5.78 million.
The seized drugs will be brought for laboratory examination and identification of the substance. The suspect is now under the custody of Tacloban City Police Office for documentation and filing of appropriate charges against him.
TCPO chief P/Col. Noelito Getiigan said his office will continue to intensify its efforts to eliminate illegal drugs and save lives.
“We will not allow illegal drugs to destroy families in Tacloban City,” Getigan said.
